What do I do if I can't afford a lawyer?

You’re at the right site, but the wrong page! This site is dedicated to helping people find affordable solutions to their legal problems. The site is free and a platform for you to find help by yourself.

Why are your services so much cheaper than other lawyers?

Our services are not the same as those provided by law firms or barrister’s chambers. As a predominantly online business we have low overheads. We employ freelance barristers on a fixed fee or voluntary basis. Often they fit this work around their other commitments.

What professional services do you offer?

We employ barristers to provide legal information, education and research services.

What services do you specifically not offer?

Professional regulations mean that Can’t Afford a Lawyer and our barristers can not provide legal advice or representation. We do not review documentation or conduct any litigation.

Will you pass on my details to a third party?

Can’t Afford a Lawyer will not pass your details on to any third parties without your express consent. We do not receive referral fees from third parties and do not process any claims.

How qualified are your barristers?

At present our barristers range from 0 – 6 years call. There are varying degrees of experience and specialism. Some are practising and others are non-practising. Our barristers are all competent to provide the services offered through Can’t Afford a Lawyer. Details of individual qualifications and experience are available on request. Copies of work carried out are kept and regularly reviewed for quality and content.

Many of our services are free, but if you choose to pay for further assistance we accept all major cards.
